Getting to AX2007 was... entertaining to say the least. We carpooled up, and has “AX or Bust” and our car’s “code names” written on the rear windshield of each car, and group-chosen phrases for each car passenger written on the back side windows. My car was “Blue*Elf” with “Scary Demon Girl”(me) and “l337 Ninja”(Tim). Thanh’s car was “Black Mambo” with “I’m Lost” for her and no phrase for Lexx. Brett’s car was “White Rabbit” with “For a good time, follow me” on his rear side window. Everyone except Brett made it in time to pick up our badges on Day 0, with Tim and I sliding in 4 minutes before the deadline. Brett spent 4 hours in line on Day 1 to get his badge, and got the sunburn to prove it. Lexx cross-played as L from “DeathNote” and Thanh cosplayed as Motoko from “Ghost in the Shell”. I wore my goggles and pointed out some of the more amusing cosplays going on, as well as acting as packhorse for our cosplayers. Tim generally kind of complained a lot, but his “I’m staying the hell out of the sun” was probably smart.
