Oh lookit, a drawing! *dies from shock*
Kidding.
The Pokemon Gijinka design for Charmeleon was of a guy [link] , so I made some redesigns to it --and made it more hot-weather friendly-- in order to create a female variation.
The finished art piece comparing the two designs and the original pokemon is above. (I wasn't so great at imitating the Japanese artist's style. Ah well.)
------
So, there's this cosplay equivalent of an internet meme going around. A Japanese artist [link] did these "Gijinka" [link] designs for every Pokemon... and the cosplayers are having a field day. Making the list [link] and trying to get as many people as possible sign up to fill the "pokedex" and meet up at different conventions.
I got sucked into the excitement to be #005. Charmeleon for Dragon*Con 2008 (later on this year). In turn, I dragged ~xaynie into it as #151. Mew. We both finished our Pokemon Gijinka costumes and wore them to the gathering at Anime Expo 2008 on Saturday.

I really love the Girls expression, so badass but so hot to (see what I did there) Nice job. Though I do like the originals drawing style.
