You know, I really think that if these two ever get together canon-ically... It'll be because of something like this. Gourry will do something to rescue Lina or he'll say something about how he intends to stay with her for the rest of his life (again)...
And Lina will get angry/flustered and ask what he was thinking/why...
And Gourry would just say something to that effect like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

He had figured out Xellos was a Mazoku first, but didn't say anything because he figured if he had realized it, everyone else must have a long time ago. He knows he's dumb. And he probably would figure this was obvious too.
