Character Profile
Name: Sinaaq (Inuit meaning "edge of the sea ice")
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Scars/Distinctions: None.
Appearance: Due to being born a (fraternal)twin, Sinaaq is a bit smaller both in height and general build than the average for others of her same age and nationality --although it is not as significantly noticeable a difference for her as compared to her brother. Looks-wise, Sinaaq takes after her father, with wider facial features and a larger nose and wider mouth than seen in her brother's features. She keeps her hair long, part of it held back in a bun, with four long dreadlocks hanging down to either side of her face. Like her bother, years of training as a Water Tribe warrior has put solid muscle on her small frame. While still a serious warrior, Sinaaq has a more relaxed attitude than her brother, and smiles frequently.
Clothing: Sinaaq favors the garb traditional to Water Tribe scouts, which involves tight-fitting layers of clothing that cover most of the body and incorporates more dark blues. She wears armored tall boots that accommodate her more grounded fighting style. The necklace she wears was made for her by her brother, to celebrate her acceptance into the warrior caste.
Based on the warrior outfits of the Northern Water Tribe. Seen in the season 1 finale, examples here: [link] [link] [link]
Personality: Sinaaq is a tomboy, often mocked for her tendency to wear traditionally male clothing and practice arts usually reserved for the men of the tribe. Sinaaq is a serious warrior when it counts, but she also has quite the mischievous streak. She enjoys teasing and playing jokes, especially on her brother. She is more balanced than her brother personality-wise, and is the more mature of the twins. She is also more open to new ideas and other cultures, although her curiosity and questioning of tradition has put her at odds with her teachers' philosophies more than once. She is well accepted among her training-mates, but generally considered too manly/tomboy-ish by most of the tribe.

Character Skills
Profession: Warrior (Scout)
Arts: She plays the Qilaut [link] quite skillfully, although the instrument is one traditionally taken up by men. She can cook well, perhaps the only thing she does that can be considered feminine (which is a good thing given her brother's utter lack of cooking talent).
Fighting Skills: She is a warrior that specializes in using the bone Panabas, and her fighting style is more aggressive and rooted style of fighting than her brother's fluid fighting styles. Because Sinaaq and Nunataq spar together frequently, she has developed more raw strength than grace in her fighting style, and her fighting motions are slower. In exchange though, she has developed a style with less wasted movement and fewer openings in her defense, making her a slightly better fighter than her brother. She wins a little more than half of their sparring sessions. She is not particularly stand out among her fellow warriors though. Competent, but not the top of the class.
Weapons: (See illustration.) A large tooth/bone weapon based on a weapon seen used multiple times in season 1 of Avatar. What would you call that thing? [link] Panabas(wiki) ?
Bending Skills: None.
Other Skills: None of note.

Character History
Hailed From: Northern Water Tribe
Current Residence: TBW
Family: Mother, Father, fraternal twin brother Nunataq

Other History: Sinaaq has lived her entire life in the Northern Water Tribe homeland. She and her twin brother grew up together, and for all that they bicker and tease, are very close. They trained together as warriors, and are both quite skilled, but nothing of particular note that sets them apart from their fellows. While females are starting to be accepted among the Water Tribe warrior caste, it is still far more difficult for a female to be allowed to train than a male, and Sinaaq had to pass far more difficult tests than her brother to be accepted. In celebration of her acceptance, Nunataq carved a traditional warrior's necklace for her and presented it after her initiation. The necklace is her most value possession.
The twins set out on what was to be a training exercise with several of their fellow trainees at the very end of their warrior training. A storm hit the ships, and ultimately Nunataq and Sinaaq were separated from their group. While working to return home, they met Karu and Enlai, whom they began traveling with.

Sinaaq has a very friendly relationship with Enlai as both have trickster natures at heart. They frequently work together to play tricks on Nunataq, and occasionally on Karu.

Sinaaq gets along with Karu, but their relationship is not as close due to Karu's serious nature. They are slowly getting closer, as Sinaaq learns that even Karu will joke around sometimes.

Note: Nunataq & Sinaaq are siblings and are close, but they DO NOT have any sort of psychic bond just because they're twins.

The weapon looks like a (bone) jambiya blade on a panabas-style hilt/handle.
